The Daily Banking Cluster in Commerzbank is building the bank’s online banking application. With over 1 million daily users and over 15 million API calls per day and growing, this is one of the largest projects of its kind in Europe. Utilizing modern technologies such as React, Java-based microservices, Oracle, Kafka, Docker and OpenShift, and together with other teams in Prague who are building the partner mobile app, we are building a next-generation online banking experience.
As a React Developer in our team you will play a key role in a multinational team developing new features for our customers. The team comprises Java and React developers, DevOps engineers, Business Experts, testers, a Scrum Master and a PO.
Given the high-profile of the application, the team has a huge responsibility, making this an intensive, exciting and truly unique opportunity to expand and develop your technical skills and international experience.

Your tasks

As a Frontend React Developer you will:

• Lead frontend development within a team, keeping the project abreast of the latest technologies, practices and standards.
• Use Commerzbank’s ready-to-use React components as well as design new components to develop new features of our online banking application.
• Drive the development of new APIs serving the needs of new UI functionality.
• Mentor junior React developers and share your knowledge and experience to help them fulfil their tasks.
• Be part of an agile team refining and planning user stories with backend developers, Business Experts and UX designers.
• Support incident resolution and bug fixing in production.

Your profile

We prefer someone with these skills and experience:
Technical:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related.
• 3 or more years active professional experience using React.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues with React.
• Familiarity with the latest tools and practices to develop cutting-edge UIs.
• Development of REST APIs
• Experience with Java and Spring is an advantage.
• Web technologies: HTML5, CSS, Java Script React.
• Secure Coding Practices.

Other skills and experience:

• High analytical thinking with attention to details and problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Good team player with high ability to work in international teams.
• Previous experience working in an agile environment.

Fluency in English - both written and spoken as you will be in daily contact with native and non-native speakers.
